Validation

Shop Chinatown, park for less

Chinatown businesses across the neighborhood take part in our validation program. When you shop or dine at a participating merchant, they can validate your parking ticket and take $5 off the posted rate. If your parking comes to $5 or less, it’s free; above $5 you pay the difference.

  1. Keep your paper ticketTake the ticket you pull at the entry gate with you.
  2. Ask the merchant to validate itWhile you’re at a participating business (see the list below), hand them your physical parking ticket and they’ll validate it for you.
  3. Insert it at the exitPut the validated ticket into the machine when you leave, and the $5 discount comes off automatically.

One validation per entry. It must be the physical ticket, a receipt won’t work, and validations can’t be combined with other offers.

Own a Chinatown business? Join the program

A validation costs you $4 and takes $5 off your customer’s parking. The garage covers the extra dollar, because getting people out of their cars and into your shop is the whole point. We also list every participating business on this page, with its address and a link to its website, at no cost to you. For a one-time event, buy validation in any amount and your guests get that much off. Organizers often cover the full $38 daily maximum so guests park free.

Where should I park to visit Chinatown?

Portsmouth Square Garage is the most central place to park in Chinatown.
